Do you have the patience to waitYep, I do have the patience to be still. The part I don't have downpat yet is getting over the worry that I'll stay still and never kick into action. Which means, of course, that perhaps I don't really have the patience to be still.
till your mind settles and the water is clear?
Can you remain unmoving
till the right action arises by itself?~Lao-Tzu, Tao-te-Ching
"You, no less than all beings have Buddha Nature within. Your essential Mind is pure. Therefore, when defilements cause you to stumble and fall, let not remorse nor dark foreboding cast you down. Be of good cheer and with this understanding, summon strength and walk on. Faith is like a lamp and wisdom makes the flame burn bright. Carry this lamp always and in good time the darkness will yield and you will abide in the Light."That last line gives such a sense of release and relief.~ Dhammavadaka
Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:Isn't that lovely? And doesn't it feel like most of life is a struggle to remember a deep truth within us, getting glimpses from time to time, but never quite being able to hold onto the clarity we once had, and will return to.
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:~ William Wordsworth, Ode on Intimations of Immortality
Peace Be With You
